Compost Awareness Week – 2025
During this year’s Compost Awareness week, at the beginning of May, Cornwall Council, SUEZ and the Green Waste Company worked together to raise awareness of home composting.
Free compost was made available to members of the public at two of Cornwall’s household waste recycling centres.
The compost was kindly donated by the Green Waste Company who turn the Garden waste from Cornwall Council’s household waste recycling centres into compost at their site in Higher Brynn. SUEZ staff were on hand at Connon Bridge and Truro HWRCs to assist with bagging and provided information on home composting techniques for the public.
Ben Thompson, West Cornwall Operations Manager for SUEZ recycling and recovery UK, said: “It was fantastic to see so many local residents making the most of the free compost, and it gave us a great opportunity to share the benefits of home composting with the community.”
