CERC Operational update, September 2026
The annual planned shutdown of the Cornwall Energy Recovery Centre (CERC) will commence this week to allow for routine inspections and maintenance of the plant.
Maintenance will be completed in a phased approach and as we re-start each line, low pressure steam will be released through the roof vents during the re-start process, which may be visible.
Once the facility is producing the required steam quality, the turbine will be restarted to allow electricity to be exported again. People in the local area may see steam coming from the facility at intervals accompanied by low level noise as the steam is released.
