Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II: Cornwall’s household waste and recycling centres will be closed on Monday 19 September 2022

As the nation mourns the death of Britain’s longest-serving monarch, the household waste and recycling centres in Cornwall will be closed on Monday 19 September 2022 for the Queen’s funeral. The sites will reopen as normal from Tuesday 20 September 2022.

Members of the public are able to pay their respects to Her Majesty The Queen by signing books of condolence at six Council buildings.

The books are available to sign every day from 9am until 5pm (apart from Sunday) and will close at 5pm on the day of the funeral.

Locations of the books are:

  • St John’s Hall, Penzance
  • Dolcoath Council Office, Camborne
  • County Hall, Truro
  • Council Offices, Penwinnick Road, St Austell
  • Chy Trevail, Bodmin
  • Luxstowe House, Liskeard

Alternatively people can email their messages to lieutenancy@cornwall.gov.uk or send in writing to the Cornwall Lieutenancy Office, County Hall, Truro, TR1 3AY.
