The visit showcased the journey waste takes across Cornwall and highlighted the role our facilities play in increasing recycling, recovering valuable materials, and supporting Cornwall’s sustainability ambitions.

Discussions focused on key industry challenges, including the growing fire risk posed by incorrectly disposed batteries, vapes and small electrical items, as well as the dangers of nitrous oxide (NOx) canisters entering the waste stream. The importance of public awareness and responsible disposal of hazardous items was also discussed.
