CERC repair programme update, April 2026
The new boiler at the Cornwall energy recovery centre has been pressure tested and cleaned successfully.
A crane will be arriving on site this week to close the boiler house roof, once closed, it will then leave site, and internal works will be completed.
The next stage will include steam blowing which will begin in May. During the steam blowing phase, intermittent steam coming from the facility will be visible, accompanied by low level noise as the steam is released. We will minimise the impact on local residents by piping the steam at ground level and fitting a silencer. This is scheduled to take place during the hours of 7am and 7pm.
A further update will be provided before these works are due to begin.
