Making a difference: Volunteers come together to care for animals in need
Volunteers from SUEZ recycling and recovery UK, were proud to work alongside colleagues at the Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty Animals (RSPCA) Cornwall Branch. This partnership highlights the company’s commitment to its local communities.
Throughout November, dedicated teams of employees from SUEZ spent the day at RSPCA Cornwall Branch, a rehabilitation and rehoming centre in St Columb, assisting with various tasks to support the organisation’s mission of protecting animal welfare. Volunteers participated in cleaning and organising facilities, maintaining outdoor spaces, and helping with animal care activities, all while embodying the spirit of teamwork and community service.
“Our team is passionate about making a positive impact, both in waste management and in our local community,” said Martine Hill, Invoicing Processing Manager at SUEZ. “Volunteering at the RSPCA not only allows us to give back but also reinforces our commitment to supporting our local community and the protection of our environment and its inhabitants.”
By collaborating with organisations like RSPCA, it allows local teams to use their annual volunteer days to support local community projects that are close to their hearts.
The RSPCA, known for its tireless work in rescuing, rehabilitating and rehoming animals across the UK, has a number of independently registered branches and each are grateful for the support of local businesses such as SUEZ. “We are thrilled to have this type of support from local businesses at the Cornwall Branch of the RSPCA,” said Leanne Bawden, Community, Events and Volunteer Manager. “As an independently registered charity that raises its own funds, and is not funded by the National RSPCA, the efforts of these businesses help us to maintain our facilities and continue our vital work in animal welfare. Together, with support from the local community, we can make a difference for the animals of Cornwall.’’
