Cornwall Energy Recovery Centre – Operational update (November 2025)

Line 1 following yearly planned maintenance is processing the majority of Cornwall’s non-recyclable household, black bin bag waste will continue to be processed as normal through the energy recovery centre.

During November cranes will arrive on site to remove the line 2 boiler in sections. These works will occur between the hours of 7am and 7pm and will be completed in December.

The roof will be temporarily modified to include a sliding panel, allowing access to the boiler during the repair programme.

You may see extra vehicles using the site due to deliveries and mobilisation works, this traffic will be contained to the usual route on the haul road.

Between 20 December 2025 and 06 January 2026 the contractors will break for Christmas.
