Cornwall Christmas boxes
Staff at the Cornwall energy recovery centre and Bodmin and Pool materials recycling facilities, worked together to support a local charity which helps to ensure that vulnerable and impoverished families in Cornwall are able to enjoy a special Christmas.
The Cornwall Christmas box charity which started over 16 years ago by Truro Vineyard Church, collects Christmas dinner boxes to give away through Cornwall Council’s social services team to those in need. Last year they collected 540 boxes.
Jo Hillman, Compliance Officer based at the energy recovery centre, introduced the initiative to SUEZ and saw staff collect over 30 boxes for this charity, which was also helped by the donation of funds from the vending machines based at our material recycling facilities.
Jo said ‘I’m overwhelmed by the joint effort made by the whole team in Cornwall for this really worthwhile cause, it’s really great to be able to give something back at this time of year’.
