Cornwall energy recovery centre operational update (13 February 2020)

Yesterday (Wednesday, 12 February) specialist roofing subcontractors completed an initial safety inspection of the Cornwall energy recovery centre’s roof cladding. As part of this activity, they removed loose materials and secured parts of dislodged cladding. Works will continue as and when it is safe to do so. However, a disruption to those works is anticipated  due to the forecast challenging weather conditions over the coming days.

Waste deliveries and processing continue to be unaffected. The electricity export to the National Grid remains suspended as a precautionary measure.

As soon as conditions prove safe, Western Power is expected to carry out an inspection to determine when the electricity export can restart.
