Cornwall energy recovery centre | Operational update
Following the successful completion of the annual planned shutdown of the Cornwall energy recovery centre and repairs to a damaged section of pipework (the ‘bellows’), a team of specialist engineers will begin re-commissioning the turbine this Wednesday (27 March 2019).
Re-commissioning involves a series of tests to ensure the turbine is working safely and efficiently. During these tests you may see steam coming from the facility at intervals accompanied by some noise which should last no longer than two hours as the steam is released.
On completion of the re-commissioning process, the facility will recommence producing energy and exporting this to the grid.
