Making a Splash- SUEZ Supports Hayle Pool Revamp
As the weather hots up for the summer Hayle Outdoor Swimming Pool is now open and ready to be enjoyed by the local community.
Supported by SUEZ’s Grant Scape fund, which awards up to £50,000 to not-for-profit organisations for projects. The recently completed improvements at Hayle outdoor swimming pool have not only modernised the much-loved facility but have also prioritised sustainability, ensuring the pool remains both environmentally responsible and accessible for the whole community.
The funding provided by SUEZ has contributed to key upgrades, including a new resin poolside surface, changing facilities, and the installation of a pool hoist for inclusive access. Importantly, many of the materials used in these developments were made from recycled and recyclable sources, helping to reduce environmental impact.

By using recycled and sustainable materials, this project shows how we can invest in vital local spaces while protecting the environment.”
This approach reflects SUEZ’s wider commitment to circular economy principles, giving materials a second life and reducing waste. By embedding sustainability into the refurbishment, the project demonstrates how community infrastructure can be improved responsibly without compromising on quality.
SUEZ Grant scape funds are designed to improve a broad range of publicly accessible amenities which benefit a wide cross section of the community. Whether improving a local play area or a nationally significant historic building, each project has the potential to transform the community in which it is based. These grants are for groups in close proximity to SUEZ sites, the postcode checker will determine if the group is in the benefit area.

As the pool celebrates its 50 year history it also highlights how using sustainable materials and working together can help to protect this much loved facility for future generations whilst also being kinder to the planet.
