Open day at Cornwall energy recovery centre

Members of the public enjoyed a recent visit to the Cornwall energy recovery centre as part of an Open Day event.

Paul Tedd said: “We thoroughly enjoyed the day and found it very interesting. Being a civil engineer and having been involved with a research group undertaking work on landfill, I had a particular interest. It’s a very impressive installation.”

If you’ve ever wondered what goes on at our Bodmin materials recycling facility or how waste is used as a fuel to produce energy at the Cornwall energy recovery centre, you are welcome to attend an open day. Come along to tour the facilities and discover what happens to your black bin bag waste or your kerbside recycling.

The next open days available for bookings are on 08 April 2019 for Bodmin’s material recycling facility and the 22 May 2019 for Cornwall’s energy recovery centre.
