Supporting the ‘Tonne of Tins’ appeal

Tony Burge, plant manager at the Cornwall energy recovery centre, and his team sprang into action to support this year’s Pirate FM ‘Tonne of Tins’ appeal.

The aim of the appeal was to raise awareness and support the many food banks across Cornwall. Tony organised two food bin boxes at the CERC and staff dropped off tinned foods to support struggling families across Cornwall.

Natasha Billings, office manager, and Corinna Shepherd, operations administrator, dropped off the 79kg of tins collected at the Pirate FM studios, where they got to meet local DJ, Scott Temple, and were shown around the studios before receiving a ‘shout out’ on the radio thanking SUEZ for their support.
