Halloween-themed bake off competition for Macmillan Cancer Support
This Halloween, the spirit of giving rose alongside the delicious aroma of baked goods as staff at the Cornwall Energy Recovery centre hosted a Halloween bake off to raise funds for Macmillan Cancer Support.
The event took place on Thursday 31 October 2024 where they invited staff to indulge in sweet treats for a good cause. Everyone was encouraged to unleash their creativity by baking spooky-themed goodies, from ghostly cupcakes to pumpkin-shaped cookies.
The bake off featured a panel of judges, Tony Burge, Plant Manager and Mark Hillson, PFI General Manager who tasted the entries and decided a winner based on creativity, taste, and presentation. Prizes were awarded for the top three bakers with Amarni Rickerby, Operations administrator winning first place.
“We all enjoyed the day, it was great to have fun baking and entering the bake off whilst supporting a cause that means so much to us,” said Amarni “This event not only brings us all together to showcase our baking talents but also helps to raise awareness and over £130 for Macmillan.
